Traveling and Missing Email After many months of traveling, we finally got settled in and are ready to get back at genealogy research! When returning, we found that something went horribly wrong with our email and all received email was missing. If you sent an email in the past few months and did not receive a response, please feel free to resend it. One Year Down - Into Another As we move into another new year, we wanted to say ‘Thanks!’ to all those that contributed information to help reveal more of the family history picture. Some of the families that had large or significant additions throughout the year are: Reynolds Family Kankey Family McMullen Family and recently some new information about the Finnell Family is starting to come in. We really appreciate the time people have taken to send in photographs, wills, land records and other interesting information. So often a small bit of information can take down a brick wall for family researchers. A special ‘Thanks!’ to everyone who contributed with the ‘Cemetery Project’ which is currently underway in Curry County, New Mexico. Transcribing headstones and sending in obituary information has provided a valuable resource to quite a few people. Updates to the site continue on almost a daily basis, check back often and have a GREAT new year! Cemetery Update We finished taking all the photos for the New Melrose Cemetery located in Melrose, Curry County, New Mexico! All that remains now is to transcribe the remaining headstones and give the list a 'good look over' for glaring errors. Unfortunately there are about 3 headstones which were completely inaccessible because of severe overgrowth of a few pine trees. Though pictures of those headstones will be next to impossible, we will attempt to at least get the information. Long Time Coming A news post is long overdue, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been some news to post. Work on the New Melrose Cemetery continues on and there are only a few hundred headstones that require to be entered. We have been fortunate to continue to receive information for families in the Krieger Family Genealogy. Especially for individuals in the Reynolds family line. Odell Family Additions Thanks Shelia for sending in some additional information and corrections for the Odell Family and a few others. Her information also provided some insight to other family members who were not previously known. Every little bit helps! Huge family addition We just completed a huge addition to the Krieger Genealogy, taking nearly 5 months to complete! Though this family is related through marriage, we added eight generations (almost 600 individuals) starting with Benjamin Reynolds. Benjamin Reynolds served 2 years in the Civil War as part of the Loves Regiment (Arkansas Calvary). He was Cherokee Indian and as passed on through the family, his Indian name is 'Running Deer'. If anyone could provide additional information about individuals in this family line or more specifically, about Benjamin Reynolds and the Loves Regiment, it would be greatly appreciated!
